Public Defender Background

Before founding O'Dell Family Immigration Law, Andrew O'Dell served as a Deputy Assistant Public Defender in Connecticut. In that role, he represented hundreds of clients facing the most consequential moments of their lives — negotiating, litigating, and advocating in high-stakes, high-pressure environments. He learned early that skilled legal representation is not a luxury; it is a lifeline. He carried that lesson into immigration law.

Military Service

Attorney O'Dell is a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. The discipline, integrity, and commitment to service forged during his military career are the same qualities that define his legal practice today. His military background gives him a unique and deeply personal understanding of the Military Parole in Place benefit — and a particular dedication to serving military families navigating the immigration process.

A Personal Connection to Immigration

Attorney O'Dell's commitment to family immigration law is not simply professional — it is personal. He has helped his own family navigate the U.S. immigration system, giving him a firsthand understanding of the anxieties, bureaucratic challenges, and emotional weight that every client in his office carries. That experience drives his practice philosophy: treat every client the way he would want his own family treated.

Practice Focus

O'Dell Family Immigration Law focuses exclusively on family-based immigration. Attorney O'Dell earned his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University. He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut. Because immigration law is federal law, he represents clients throughout the United States before USCIS and related federal agencies.

He offers consultations in English and Spanish, and is committed to ensuring every client fully understands their case, their options, and their path forward.
